Recognizing and appreciating the diversity of local birds is the aim of this activity. Identifying species fosters an appreciation of biodiversity, encouraging individuals to value and protect the natural world. We'll discuss the use of binoculars, learn to listen, recognize and memorize bird songs, and discern species based on their appearance and environment. We'll list the bird species we see or hear. We typically observe between 12 and 30 species.
