An introduction to the wonderful world of local basketry, the art of weaving local plants. This workshop introduces you to the plants that grow around you, and which can be transformed by your hands into baskets and other woven objects. It's a time to touch, see and smell plants that are woven, discover baskets made from them and hear stories! Everyone will learn to weave a small, round basket from plants available at the time, such as willow and dogwood stems, cattail bark and leaves. Everyone will leave with their creation, woven to hold their treasures and filled with stories of the time spent together.
